The Loreal Infallible range has been in the market for more than a hot minute now and the pro-matte foundation found in the range has been a bit hit among beauty bloggers and Youtubers alike. Loreal, although deemed as “drugstore” sits on the higher end of prices with the primer and foundation sitting at roughly $30AUD. I have been using the foundation for a good half year and the primer, around two weeks now and I’m ready to give my full review on both products.
Loreal Infallible Primer
Okay I’m going to be honest here and say that I did not enjoy this primer for myself. The primer itself is of a gel consistency and is clear. When I swatched it in store, it left my skin soft and blurred. Immediately, it gave such a great look to the skin. I have rather greasy skin and considering the Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation, I thought these two would work hand-in-hand to give me a nice look that would last all day. But alas, it was the opposite. Within a few hours my skin was oily and had basically eaten up my foundation and everything else. For those with dry/combination skin, I think the primer would help give your skin a nice satin look, but this just wasn’t for me.
Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation
As I previously mentioned, I’ve been using this foundation for a few months now and I really do like it. With great coverage and a matte finish, it’s got excellent staying power. The only thing I would be aware of is that if you apply the product with a brush or your fingers, it can and will probably act to accentuate your dry spots. To counteract this, try using a damp sponge like the Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. As for the product itself, the packaging allows for sanitary application in a squeeze tube which has little to no problems with leaking. The formula offers a demi-matte finish, coming in a variety of colours, it offers medium to high coverage and can sit on the skin for hours on end. I like to pair this foundation with my MaxFactor Facefinity Stay all Day Primer. With those two, I can honestly vouch for a routine that can last all day. I apply my foundation at 7am in the morning and often return home at 9-11pm, while I run around all day “studying” and attending classes at uni. Perhaps I’ll do a makeup routine but we shall see.
