Date night! I don’t go out on dates much, but when I do, I don’t like to stray too far away from my normal everyday routine – just add a few things. Recently, I bought the Loreal Infallible 24-H Matte foundation. It is a great foundation, beautiful coverage, great longevity, and it finishes with a matte finish that is to die for. If you’re a little on the normal-slightly drier side, I doubt you’d have to add a powder, but I do just in case. My go to brush to buff in my foundation has been the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. It’s a lovely synthetic hair brush, dense and soft. It’s great for buffing in foundation, both powder and liquid.
I usually don’t wear eye-shadow, but when I do, it’s usually a busted up quad from Maybelline but I like to swap it up sometimes with this old Clinique Eyeshadow Duo (The new version in ‘Strawberry Fudge’ here!) and put the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eye-Shadows as a nice base to prevent my oily eyelids ruining all my effort. I’ve been in the market for a new higher quality and higher end neutral eye-shadow palette though, so if you know of one, let me know! Anyway, I like to emphasise the crease in my eye and finish off with a cat eye from my love, the Kat Von D Tatoo Liner in Trooper.
Recently I caved in and purchased the Anastasia Brow Wiz (Soft Brown), and this has been great. I finally understand the hype. I’m not yet bold enough to go for the dip brow pomade, but this has served me well compared to the many drugstore eyebrow pencils I have purchased. It’s got quite the waxy finish compared to many drug store pencils, so if you’ve been considering your purchase, don’t fret – just do it!!
Sometimes, I don’t really feel like emphasising my eyes with eye-shadow or a dramatic cat-eye. In this scenario, I like to just finish off my look with a bolder or a more eye-catching lip colour. For example, this Bite Beauty High Pigment Lip Pencil in Bramble. It’s a deep, classic Hollywood red that does not dry your lips and wears elegantly. But if you’re interested in a more in depth review, check out my old Favourites post where I talk about it (x).
To finish, I’ll spray a little of the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, which is a little peppery and coconut-ty. Over time, it deepens down to a rich coconut scent.
