I’m going to express how much I’ve been loving wearing lipstick. Wearing something on my lips and doing little to nothing with the rest of my makeup has been amazing on days where I really can’t be bothered but I know I probably should not look like I haven’t slept for 50 years.
With this recent exploration into the world of lipsticks, I purchased the Kat Von D Lolita Lip Duo.
With two minis of their Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Lolita and Lolita II, this limited edition lip duo is a perfect way to get a taste of what KVD’s liquid lipsticks are all about. Only available at Sephora, the minis are just shy of being half the size of their original counterparts containing 0.10oz (30mL) of product per tube and it comes to around $30 (AUD) to buy the set.
Lolita, a “chestnut rose” shade is a brown pink shade. On me it’s on the browner side, but on others it’s a dusty pink so if you were curious about it, it’s definitely something you should try on in store to see if it tickles your fancy. On the other hand, Lolita II is a “terracotta nude” that is, in my opinion, more of a universal shade.

Both of the lipsticks are beautiful and dry matte in a minute after application. The product is wonderfully pigmented and the doe-foot applicator allows for nice, crisp lines. The lipstick stays on for around three to four hours when on and aren’t as drying as other products in the liquid lipstick market, but this being said, I don’t think “everlasting” as featured in the name, is best fit for the product. Don’t get me wrong! I was able to talk, drink coffee and go about my day normally without much transfer or the lipstick feathering or flaking but it wasn’t really foolproof when it came to eating
and kissing. It cracked at the lines in my lip and stained the outer parts of my lips, but it’s nothing a reapplication couldn’t fix. Regardless, it’s a great option if you’re out and about and don’t want to keep making sure your lips are still visible. If you do purchase these, or any liquid lipsticks, remember to scrub your lips and wear some lip balm beforehand or your lips will dry out.
I can’t wait until Lolita II is out in Sephora, you should try get your hands on her wonderful lipsticks and have a go for yourself!
