Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream and Overnight Serum-In-Oil

So last year, my skin was just insane. It was dry and flaky, making my make-up application difficult and appear patchy. I figured it was time to do something about it and so I went to The Body Shop and was intrigued by their Vitamin E range!

So onto the review (I’ll keep it short and sweet):

The Body Shop: Vitamin E Eye Cream | $21.95

The eye cream claims to help “reduce [the] appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles” and is for all skin types. The eye cream was quick to work, after 2 uses I definitely noticed how my under eyes were moisturised and hydrated and not sticky. I’m not too sure how this cream works for fine lines, but as for puffiness and dark circles, it helped a tad. Be aware though, putting on a little bit of a larger quantity, the cream feels heavy very quick. Often, I put a small amount on my ring fingers and blend that out as one does with under eye concealer.

I’m still going strong with the cream, because as I said, you don’t need much for it to hydrate your under eyes. I wear this at night, but you can also use it in the day under make up. When using this under make up, I am careful to use a little less because it does encourage creasing a little more and it looks a little oily sometimes when putting make up on top.

Overall, it’s great for hydration, mediocre for the rest of its claims. For the price, I think it’s okay but I wouldn’t rush to buy another.

The Body Shop: Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil | $32.95

The serum/oil (It’s a bit of both? haha) claims to replenish and recharge moisture overnight, making your skin appear like you’ve had 8 hours of sleep. I really enjoyed this product! It has the nourishment of a serum, but the moisture of an oil. The product has a built in pipette and is a translucent pale yellow colour, and is a little oily when you apply the product. After a while however, it just sinks into your skin and leaves your skin with a dewy look. (This shouldn’t matter though because you know, you’ll be sleeping…) After waking up in the morning, you can see the difference, your skin looks a little plumper, has more colour and you’re not washed out!

The product has a faint, flowery smell that lingers on your skin. For me, it’s absolutely lovely, for others it might not be, but as I said, I love it.

I am for sure going to repurchase the product as soon as I can!
